News Release – Joseph Gottschalk

JOSEPH GOTTSCHALK ELECTED TO BOUNCE CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION® BOARD OF DIRECTORS

DEERFIELD, Ill. (April 17, 2018) – Bounce Children’s Foundation® (Bounce), a non-profit organization supporting chronically-ill children and their families, is pleased to announce the election of Joseph Gottschalk, Vice President of North American Nutrition Portfolio, Consumer Engagement & Insights for PepsiCo, to its Board of Directors.

With over 20 years of experience in global consumer and marketing executive roles, Mr. Gottschalk developed his expertise at several prominent fast-moving consumer goods organizations. Previous roles include positions at Mars Chocolate, Wrigley, Unilever and Procter & Gamble. At PepsiCo, Mr. Gottschalk is responsible for identifying consumer centric and business-building strategies that drive business performance, innovation, consumer engagement and growth across PepsiCo’s portfolio of nutrition brands.

“Now I’m in a place in life where I can give back and I want to support philanthropic organizations that are meaningful to me,” Mr. Gottschalk said. “Bounce is especially important to me because I saw how a childhood disease affected my sister’s life. I want to help Bounce achieve its goals of expanding and supporting more families.”

“Joe’s professional expertise and personal experience with childhood illness makes him a perfect addition to our Board,” said Joan Steltmann, chief executive officer, Bounce Children’s Foundation®. “The drive he’s displayed throughout his career will help us widen our reach in the community, and his genuine desire to help people will help us positively impact more children and families.”

“Joe’s passion for philanthropy and his success in brand-building will help create a stronger foundation for our organization,” said Corey Martens, board chair, Bounce Children’s Foundation®, and partner, Grant Thornton LLP’s U.S. Forensic Advisory Services. “I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the Board as we accelerate the growth of the organization.”

Mr. Gottschalk began his career in the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy, as well as a Master of Engineering Management from George Washington University. His other volunteer experience includes serving on the Board of Directors of USO of Illinois and volunteering at the Chicago Food Depository.
