What is Bounce Academy?
Launching in the summer of 2017, Bounce Academy will offer education for parents/caregivers to enhance their ability to cope with the ongoing challenges of chronic illness financially, intellectually, emotionally and psychological.
How does the Bounce Academy program help?
The ability to cope with highly unpredictable and stressful life events makes a significant different in our long-term happiness and health. For parents, improving one’s ability to find positive solutions to their unique struggles, and being able to teach these to their children, is a game changer in both the short and long run.
Who can attend a Bounce Academy education session?
All Bounce families are automatically enrolled in the Bounce Academy program and will be notified of each Bounce Academy opportunity via Bounce Net®.
What if I can’t leave my children at home to attend?
While Bounce Academy specifically targets parents/caregivers to help build skills to hang on and hold their families together, Bounce recognizes parental participation in face-to-face education is only accessible when parents don’t have to worry about leaving their children at home. Please bring your children, both chronically ill and healthy, with you. They will be kept close by, entertained and supervised at all times to ensure smiles and safety. Kids will also partake in fun activities that encourage and foster their own resiliency skills so they too can bounce back from the setbacks in their lives.
What topics are covered in Bounce Academy?
Educational topics will be based on the needs of Bounce families. Their input will be sought to create and prioritize the Bounce Academy curriculum. Topics may include any or all of the following:
